Nicole Kidman faced minor injuries today after being slammed into a light pole in an accidental on-set car crash. The 39 year old Aussie wasn’t expecting such a hard hit when the stunt driver of the car lost control for a mere moment and went smashing into a pole. Kidman, along with about 7 crew members, were taken to the hospital, treated for minor injuries and released about 2 hours later. Nonetheless, Nicole remained shaken up about the whole incident when she returned back on set later on in the day. The Jaguar that Kidman was riding in at the time of the crash was damaged and glass was thrown from the scene. As seen in the footage below, Kidman managed to escape any serious injuries as she walked away from the scene looking a little shook up. According to US Weekly, the Oscar winner’s husband, Keith Urban (who spent time in rehab last year) was on set when the crash happened. In addition, Kidman’s 11 year old son, Connor Cruise (son of Tom Cruise) was also on set when the incidence occurred. We are happy to report that everyone involved in the crash was sent home from the hospital later that day with no serious injuries. The 39-year-old actress was shooting her latest film, sci-fi movie 'The Invasion', when her camera-rigged stunt car crashed into a light pole on set, in downtown Los Angeles. The accident occurred at around 1am when the stunt driver of the camera rig towing the Jaguar Nicole was sitting in skidded going round a corner at 45mph, police said. Paramedics were called to the scene but were not required to transport anyone to hospital. Nicole was one of eight people subsequently taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center by private vehicle. She suffered no serious injuries and was released to return to the set later that day. Warner Bros. released a statement, saying: "Nicole Kidman was in the vehicle at the time of the accident and was taken to the hospital for evaluation. She was released shortly thereafter." The studio also announced that "two crew members sustained minor injuries as a result of the collision." The actress was shooting a scene in which her character is attempting to escape from zombie-like creatures clinging to the roof of her car. Nicole Kidman & Keith Urban Suffer Scare on Set of 'Invasion'Country superstar Keith Urban and his Oscar-winning wife Nicole Kidman suffered quite a scare when Nicole was involved in a car crash on her newest movie set. Earlier reports had claimed that Keith was on set at the time of the accident. The good news is that Nicole was only slightly injured early Thursday morning while filming the science-fiction thriller film 'Invasion.' The crash which occurred in downtown LA on the set of the movie involved 7 other crew members including a young boy (believed to be a stunt person) working on the film. *** Kidman was in the driver's seat in the Jaguar being pulled by a truck for the scene to make it appear like Nic was driving and the rig was attempting to escape the film’s zombie-like character, when the stunt driver went off course and hit a light pole. The vehicle which was being towed by the camera rig attempted to round a corner at approximately 45 mph. The visibly shaken Nicole first returned to her trailer but decided to be checked out at a local hospital where she was released 2 hours later. The rest of the crew were also released from the hospital having suffered minor injuries including one with a broken arm. Nicole’s publicist, Catherine Olim, released this statement "I think she's OK," said Olim, adding that it was unclear if the actress went home or returned to the set to resume shooting of the Warner Bros. movie.
