Kylie Minogue Forced To Quit Gig

Pop superstar KYLIE MINOGUE was forced to abandon a concert in Manchester, England on Saturday night after being struck down with flu. The CAN'T GET YOU OUT OF MY HEAD singer left the stage at the Manchester Evening News Arena after singing just nine songs, only to re-emerge ten minutes later for a duet with sister DANNII -before abandoning the gig just 45 minutes into her two hour set. She told fans, "I'm sorry and I've never had to do this in my career before but I can't sing on." Spokesman JOHN BILLS said, "Several members of the crew, the tour manager and Kylie have been suffering from flu but she didn't want to let anyone down. She wanted to get through the show but had to cut it short." Minogue has confirmed she'll go ahead with the remaining four dates of her Showgirl - Homecoming Tour, and she'll be back on stage in Manchester tomorrow.

Kylie Minogue Cancels Two Tour Dates Due To Illness

As we told you over the weekend, the pop star axed the first show at the MEN Arena on Saturday mid-way through the set due to a moderately severe respiratory tract infection. Doctors have ordered her to rest and not perform in the immediate future. Accordingly the singer has cancelled the dates tonight and tomorrow night (January 15/16). The final two shows in the city on Thursday and Friday are at the time of press still scheduled to go ahead. The cancelled dates will be rearranged as soon as possible.

Pop princess Kylie Minogue has been forced to cancel a concert on Monday and another on Tuesday because of an infection. Doctors have advised Kylie not to perform in the near future, due to a "moderately severe" respiratory tract infection, her management said. Kylie was due to perform the concerts as part of her Showgirl Homecoming tour at the Manchester Evening News arena (MEN). It is hoped the five day break will give the singer time to recover before her concerts scheduled in the city on Thursday and Friday. Fans with tickets for the two cancelled gigs are advised to hang onto them until a decision is made about whether they will happen at a later date. Kylie's management said promoters are hoping to reschedule "at the earliest opportunity". The 38-year-old was forced to pull out half way through the second of six scheduled Manchester concerts on Saturday - the first time she has had to interrupt a live show during her lengthy career at the top of the charts. Her early departure was then blamed on a bad bout of flu, which had hit several other members of her crew. A spokesman has denied the health scare was linked to her battle with breast cancer, which caused a career hiatus before a comeback tour that began in Sydney, Australia, last November.
