Kylie Minogue

Olivier Martinez says his love helped girlfriend Kylie Minogue win her breast cancer battle.

The 'Taking Lives' actor - who was described by Kylie as "the most honourable man I've met" during her illness - insists he did everything he possibly could for his lover. He told Cosmopolitan magazine: "I didn't think about myself at the time. All I did was try my best in the situation. It's important to be honest with yourself. What you say should be what you do. Don't just say, 'I love you'. Show it." The 41-year-old French star has also revealed his attitude towards death changed when he was involved in a horrific motorbike accident more than a decade ago. He said: "I broke my back in a motorcycle accident and came close to dying. Doctors told me I'd end up in a wheelchair but I was lucky. The accident helped me learn the true price of life. It put everything in perspective - money, fame. However, I'm no longer afraid of dying, I'm afraid of suffering."

Kylie Minogue tour stopped due to flu

London, England - Australian pop diva Kylie Minogue, on the comeback trail since battling breast cancer, cut short a live show late on Saturday blaming a bad bout of flu. Her spokesman denied that her illness was linked to her breast cancer treatment. Minogue walked off stage half way through the second of six scheduled concerts at the Manchester Evening News Arena in the northern city, disappointing fans. "Kylie went on stage in Manchester ... and did half of her show and then unfortunately could not go back on just before the interval," a spokesman told the Manchester Evening News. "Kylie is suffering 'flu, as are other members of the tour group, including her manager. It is not linked to her breast cancer," the paper's Web site quoted the spokesman as saying. "We are still waiting to see what is going to happen for the rest of the tour. There are four dates left in Manchester." Minogue, 38, launched the British leg of her Showgirl Homecoming Tour on New Year's Eve following her recovery from breast cancer treatment. She has already played seven dates at London's Wembley Arena. Minogue, a former soap opera actress turned pop princess, was forced to postpone her original Showgirl world tour after her cancer diagnosis in May 2005. She had surgery and chemotherapy treatment, returning to the stage in November last year.

Illness Forces Kylie Minogue To Cancel 2 Concerts

(AP) LONDON A respiratory infection has forced Kylie Minogue to cancel two concerts on her comeback tour following treatment for breast cancer. The Australian singer only managed to perform half of a scheduled 2 1/2-hour concert Saturday in Manchester, northern England, because of the infection, spokesman John Bills said. On Sunday, a spokesman for the Manchester Evening News arena, where Kylie was performing her Showgirl Homecoming tour, said doctors had advised her to cancel shows Monday and Tuesday. Bills said there was no connection to Minogue's recovery from treatment for breast cancer, which led to a year-and-a-half hiatus before a comeback tour that began in Sydney, Australia, in November. Minogue, 38, was diagnosed with breast cancer in May 2005. She underwent successful surgery in her hometown of Melbourne, Australia, that month, followed by five months of chemotherapy in Paris.

Health fears for Kylie Minogue

Kylie Minogue walked off stage on Saturday night sparking new fears for her health. The Australian singer, who beat breast cancer last year, was forced to cut short the latest concert on her 'Showgirl Homecoming' tour, in Manchester, after just 45 minutes telling fans she was ill with flu. However, her early exit has left her friends and family concerned she is trying to do too much. A source told Britain's The Sun newspaper: "It's awoken some of our worst fears again. There are definite concerns she has taken on too much and can't cope with this pace. Everyone gets flu from time to time. But during the initial months after beating cancer, it's vital to keep well. "When Kylie announced she wanted to tour again, there was concern among her friends and family that it was too much, too soon." Kylie, 38, apologized to the 20,000 fans at Manchester's MEN Arena for her early departure. The concert was her 29th show of a gruelling 33-date tour of the UK and Australia. A spokesman for the venue said: "Kylie has a respiratory tract infection." Doctors have advised the diminutive pop star not to try to perform again too soon. Kylie has cancelled her shows scheduled for Monday and Tuesday but hopes to be well enough to return to stage soon.
