It is hoped a five day break will give the singer time to recover before her concerts scheduled in the city on Thursday and Friday. Fans who have tickets for the cancelled dates might not miss out because Kylie's representatives have not ruled out that the concert dates could be rescheduled. The 38-year-old had been due to perform six concerts in Manchester but was forced to pull out half way through the second show last night. Her early departure was blamed on a bad bout of flu, which was said to have also hit several other members of her crew. A spokesman has denied the health scare was linked to her battle with breast cancer, which caused a career hiatus before a comeback tour that began in Sydney, Australia, last November. The Australian singer, who beat breast cancer last year, was forced to cut short the latest concert on her 'Showgirl Homecoming' tour, in Manchester, after just 45 minutes telling fans she was ill with flu. However, her early exit has left her friends and family concerned she is trying to do too much. A source told Britain's The Sun newspaper: "It's awoken some of our worst fears again. There are definite concerns she has taken on too much and can't cope with this pace. Everyone gets flu from time to time. But during the initial months after beating cancer, it's vital to keep well. "When Kylie announced she wanted to tour again, there was concern among her friends and family that it was too much, too soon." Kylie Minogue Now Better At Wearing Clothes Than Kate MossForget that Kylie Minogue's cancer is now in remission and that she's returned to performing to near-universal acclaim - what should really be floating Kylie Minogue's boat is that a British magazine has pointed out that the clothes she wears are OK. Kylie Minogue has beaten Kate Moss to been named as Glamour magazine's Best Dressed Woman, a fact that would have sealed Kylie's comeback, were it not for the fact that Glamour's second-best dressed woman was Victoria Beckham; a woman who looks mostly like the world's most vacant pencil with a couple of obviously fake satsumas strapped to the front of it. Pint size pop princess Kylie Minogue is treating boyfriend to a T ...Minogue, who suffered a cancer scare last year, ordered hotel staff to remove all booze, chocolate and snack foods from their room., seemingly to avoid any temptation to over indulge in the ‘finer things in life’. Olivier Martinez, who turns 41 today will enjoy…well, not a lot as Minogue clamps down on anything ‘fatty’ or ‘alcoholic’. On a positive note, the singer must be expecting another sort of ‘indulgence’ as she has, allegedly, booked two of the rooms either side of her own. Perhaps she’s worried of waking the neighbours?! Kylie Minogue, now available in waxSeeing Kylie Minogue in person is always preferable, but if that’s impossible, you can do the next best thing: visit her wax likeness at London’s Madame Tussauds. The museum of wax celebrities and notables unveiled its newest inductee, Wax Kylie, at a ceremony in London on Wednesday morning. Minogue, Australia’s biggest pop star, is currently on the UK leg of her “Showgirl Homecoming Tour.” While popular the world over, the singer, who has sold 40 million records worldwide (her hits include "I Should Be So Lucky" (1988), "Can't Get You Out of My Head" (2001), "Slow" (2003) and "I Believe in You" (2004), suffers from Robbie Williams Syndrome in the US, where she is not a household name. Yet even in the US, Minoque is regarded as a world gay icon. Flu-ridden Kylie Minogue quits Manchester show
Pop princess Kylie walked off stage tonight half-way through a live show blaming a bad bout of flu. The Aussie singer was forced to stop performing at the Manchester Evening News Arena because of the illness, a spokesman said. The decision brought an abrupt end to the second of six performances of her Showgirl Homecoming show in the city. A spokesman denied that her health scare was linked to her battle with breast cancer. He said: "Kylie went on stage in Manchester tonight and did half of her show and then unfortunately could not go back on just before the interval. "We are still waiting to see what is going to happen for the rest of the tour. There are four dates left in Manchester. "Kylie is suffering flu, as are other members of the tour group, including her manager. It is not linked to her breast cancer." Audience members at last night's show noticed that the singer was suffering a heavy cold. But Wayne Warby, of Blackburn, wrote on the Manchester Evening News website that Kylie remained the "ultimate showgirl". He said: "What a triumphant return. Although you could tell Kylie was suffering from a sore throat, this didn't dampen the mood or the performance one bit." Kylie, 38, began her career as an actress on the Australian soap Neighbours and has gone on to become one of the most famous pop performers in the world. It was revealed that she had been diagnosed with breast cancer in May 2005. Her Showgirl tour was cut short as she retired from public life to battle against the disease.
