Keira Knightley Sues British Paper Over Anorexia StoryLondon (eCanadaNow) - Keira Knightley, the 21-year-old English actress from Pirates of the Caribbean, is not going to just lay back and think of England while the U.K. press anoints her the next great anorexia scare. She’s suing The Daily Mail for running a picture of her in a bikini alongside an article that cites her as an influence on a teen girl’s death from anorexia. The photo showed her on the beach in a red and white striped bikini. Forget anorexia, her abs are the real story here, England. Anorexia eats away at your muscles and her stomach is rock hard. Girl has obviously been doing her pilates or CherFitness tapes or something, and eating her four square meals a day (yes, even tea) Keira Knightley to sue Daily Mail over eating disorder claimsPirates of the Carribean star Keira Knightley is heading for a High Court showdown with the Daily Mail over a piece which she suggested she had tried to mislead the public about whether she suffered from an eating disorder. The moves follow publication on 11 January of a photograph of Keira - which was taken without her consent - of her on a beach wearing a bikini while she was on holiday. Simon Smith of media law firm Schillings, who represents the 21-year-old star, said today that Knightley considered the story suggested that she had "dishonestly sought to mislead the public" about whether she had an eating disorder. Smith said: "The article made reference to what it perceived to be Ms Knightley's very slim appearance. "The article then reported the recent, tragic death of a teenage girl who suffered from anorexia and contained an interview with the girl's mother. "We wish to make clear that Ms Knightley has the deepest sympathy for the girl's family." He continued: "Ms Knightley has publicly denied suggestions that she might be anorexic or have a similar eating disorder, including in a prominent way at a well-publicised press conference to mark the European premiere of Pirates Of The Caribbean 2, in London last summer. Keira Knightley has begun legal action against a newspaper publisher over allegations that she lied about an eating disorder. The Pirates of the Caribbean (PoTC) actress was pictured in the Daily Mail newspaper on the beach in a bikini alongside her boyfriend, the actor Rupert Friend, and remarks were made about her weight in an article about a girl who had died of anorexia. According to the BBC, Keira claims that the article implies that she has been dishonest in denying having such a disorder. A statement from her lawyers said that she will challenge the suggestion that she is responsible and to blame for the death of the teenage girl by setting a bad example. Speaking after the premiere of PoTC: Dead Man's Chest in London last year, 21-year-old Keira said that although anorexia ran in her family she was "very sure" it did not affect her. "I've got a lot of experience with anorexia - my grandmother and great-grandmother suffered from it, and I had a lot of friends at school who suffered from it, so I know it's not something to be taken lightly and I don't," she said.
