Jessica Simpson will be back in high-definition television just in time for the Super Bowl. Last year, the buxom blonde was teasing some kid in a Pizza Hut commercial along side Miss Piggy. This year, she is set for Pizza Hit again and a photo has emerged from the shoot and at least one person is drawing comparison with Jess and Anna Nicole Smith.

Veteran gossip Janet Charlton asks on her blog: Is Jessica Simpson doing an imitation of Anna Nicole Smith for her new Pizza commercial? That's supposedly where this picture came from. At first glance, we thought this WAS Anna, but it would have to have been before the Trim-Spa REALLY kicked in. Papa can you hear me?" The item continues: With her film and music careers on the brink of disaster, Jess filmed another commercial for Pizza Hut. Hey, a paycheck is a paycheck, right? The spot takes place at a glamorous movie premiere and features Simpson nearly tripping on her red dress. At least Jess still gets to go to A-list events ... in commercials.

Ever since Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey divorced, Simpson has been seen in the company of several different men, one of which was fellow singer John Mayer. While rumors circulated the couple were dating, John Mayer distanced himself from the situation and claimed they were just good friends. Now, after a New Year's Eve party in New York, the rumors about Jessica Simpson and John Mayer dating are back with a vengeance.

Simpson and Mayer were spotted in the jewelry section of Barney's on Madison Avenue in New York, where the New York Post reports it appears that John Mayer bought a gift for the recently-divorced singer. The New York Post's report goes on to say that couple were spotted laughing and dancing in front of the jewelry case, with ladies' man John Mayer holding Simpson's hand. One of the patrons in the store was quoted by the New York Post as admitting, "They looked very happy together. They were having fun and joking around."

As for their New Year's Eve plans, Mayer and Jessica Simpson were spotted at the Hudson Hotel where Christina Aguilera was throwing her New Year's bash. The New York Daily News quoted sources at the party who said Mayer and Simpson were "full-on making out" at the party. The New Year's Eve bash marks the first time Jessica Simpson and John Mayer were caught goofing around in public. The New York Daily News went on to talk to an insider at the Heineken-sponsored New Year's Eve party, who said, "He was scratching her back, they were kissing, it wasn't subtle."

Another insider was quoted by the same source as revealing, "John has been thrilled that they have been tricking the media, but she doesn't really care. His Christmas present to her was a framed copy of the Us Weekly cover that says 'Dumped: John ditches Jessica'." Apparently, Jessica Simpson wasn't the only thing John Mayer tried to pick up on New Year's Eve, as the New York Daily News took a shot by saying "By the way, John, you might want to have a word with your posse: That party guest your friend asked about buying drugs was a Daily News reporter."

Regarding Jessica Simpson and her botched performance at the Kennedy Center Honors, the Kennedy Center has refused to reimburse Jessica's manager/father Joe Simpson for the $15,000 in make-up, hair and wardrobe fees. A source was quoted by the New York Daily News as saying, "She was cut from the show, and they don't want to pay for a dress that didn't fit." At least Jessica Simpson will have a new, rich boyfriend who can take care of her in her much-too-small dress, which nearly caused a wardrobe malfunction at the Kennedy Center Honors.

Later on that afternoon Simpson and Mayer were seen shopping at Barneys, where Jessica was seen shopping in the accessory department while Mayer went over to the men’s department.
