Hilary DuffDrunken Hilary Duff flirts at HydeSo much for her squeaky clean reputation. Hilary Duff seems to be taking over for her former nemesis, Lindsay Lohan while she is in rehab. The 19-year-old popstar reportedly made a drunken scene at Hollywood hotspot, Hyde last Thursday night. Hilary and her sister 21-year-old Haylie showed up at Hyde around 11 p.m. They were on what appeared to be a double date, though they were also in the presence of "a huge entourage," reports Us Weekly. Said one fellow clubgoer, "When I've seen Hilary out in the past, she has been relatively composed, but tonight she was acting pretty wild." Though underage, Hilary appeared drunk to the spy, who ran into her in the bathroom. She had brought a "flamboyant" male pal along with her, says the source, who tattled, "It was kind of inappropriate. She was pretty drunk and staggering around the bathroom, bumping into people and shrieking that her gay male friend had a vagina so it was okay for him to be there." The show didn't end in the bathroom. Hilary continued her antics at the VIP table with her sister and their dates. Us says Hilary spent a good portion of the night sitting on her fella's lap, openly flirting. Haylie, meanwhile, kissed her date's neck and whispered into his ear. The source says the girls were "all over" the guys. Looks like Hilary has gotten over her ex, Joel Madden pretty quickly. Hilary Duff Calls Being Single 'Kind of Exciting'Hilary Duff says she and ex-boyfriend Joel Madden still speak to each other – but she's excited to be on the dating scene now. Appearing on Ryan Seacrest's L.A. radio show on Thursday morning, the actress and singer revealed that she'd recently been on a date with an unnamed suitor, which she said was a unique experience for her. "I've never gotten to (date) before, so it's kind of exciting," she said. "I've always just had a boyfriend, you know? I'm young!" Duff, 19, said her breakup with Madden, the lead singer of Good Charlotte, late last year, after two and half years together, wasn't bitter. "There was nothing – no fight, no 'He did this, I did this,' " she said. "It was just time for people to move on and do different things." They still keep in touch, she added. "I had a really great relationship with him, and we still have a great relationship, which is really good and unusual. He's a good person, and I always will care about him." Duff joked with Seacrest that she's going to take advantage now and play the field for a while. "It's fun. I kind of feel like a guy, like I can do it now." She added, laughing, "But I feel kind of wrong at the same time." Asked how long she might go before getting into another serious relationship, she wouldn't say. "What if I meet someone that I really am into, and they're really into me, and I'm feeling it and I'm going for it?" she said. Duff was on the KIIS-FM program to debut the song "With Love" from her upcoming record, Dignity. She said the title for the record came from her experience living the showbiz life. "I feel like dignity is something that you can't just have, you know, you have to work on having," she said. "And I feel like I have it a little. ... The album is so personal and talks about so many experiences I've had – good ones and bad ones – and (dignity) is something I always hope to have and strive to have." Hilary Duff has grown up, but she hasn't left her teen fans behind. The 19-year-old from Houston came to fame in the "tween"-queen title role on Lizzie McGuire, a hugely popular Disney Channel series that spawned The Lizzie McGuire Movie in 2003. With starring roles in movies such as Cheaper by the Dozen and Material Girls, music CDs and concerts, a signature fragrance, a Barbie clothes collection and a tween clothing line, she's created an entertainment empire. "I feel so lucky that I don't have to stick with anything too long," she said. "I'm never bored. I still have dreams and goals." In 2004, Duff launched Stuff by Hilary Duff, her preteen or tween clothing line. It's sold at Wal-Mart, Kohl's, JC Penney, Sears and Target; the accessories are also sold at Claire's. Her line includes prep-school-inspired tops, jeans and hoodies, rocker-chic jeans and jackets, Victorian-style tops with vintage details and pieces ripe for layering. Off camera, she wears designer clothes — Missoni, Azzedine Alaïa, Chanel and Yoshi Yamamoto — and loves Los Angeles' casual look. She has more jeans than she can keep up with (50 at last count). She's also known for scouring vintage boutiques and most recently found a black-lace Chloé dress from Resurrection, an L.A. vintage boutique. But many young fans wanted to know where she got her clothes, she says. So she wanted to develop fashion-conscious clothing kids could afford. Her fragrance, With Love by Hilary Duff, debuted last fall. Duff says developing the fragrance gave her a chance to learn more about the chemistry behind scents. She handpicked a mix of ingredients including amber, one of her favorites. She enjoyed the process so much that "when I'm 40, I'm quitting everything and becoming a perfumer," she said. Today, Duff is more woman than teen, but she remains loyal to the young audience that made her a star. "Tweens are a huge market. They are definitely opinionated and know what they like. They should be able to express themselves. It's a lot about who you are and dressing the way that fits you." Like many child stars, Duff says growing up in the public eye hasn't been easy. She has faced media scrutiny over her weight loss during the past several years. She won't discuss her private life. Gossip tabloids reported her recent split from Good Charlotte rocker Joel Madden. "I don't like that every single part of my life people want to know about. I never wanted that. I just wanted to act," Duff said. "I have kids come up to me all the time and say they would love to be a star. I'm flattered, but that's definitely not the reason to be in this business." Duff has followed other high-profile celebrities, such as Angelina Jolie and Oprah Winfrey, in her charitable efforts. In November, she bought 200,000 meals for two Hurricane Katrina evacuee shelters in Houston. On the hurricane's one-year anniversary in August, she traveled to New Orleans to visit and offer aid. Her occasional visits to Texas are to see family — her grandmother lives near Austin. Her dad, Bob, lives in Texas and owns convenience stores. Her mother, Susan, is one of her managers and lives in Los Angeles with Duff, her 21-year old sister Haylie, four dogs and a cat. "I love Los Angeles and would never want to leave, but I'm so happy to be from Texas," she said. "It makes you a different person. I feel more rooted. In L.A., anything goes." This year, the Duff sisters are lending their voices to the animated comedy Foodfight!, and Hilary is slated to star opposite John Cusack in Brand Hauser later this year. Duff avoids too-sexy roles, even while other celebrities her age are making headlines for sexy parts and raunchy behavior. Seeing herself as a role model, she offers girls some advice. "When you're young, you don't always fit in, and you have all these unanswered questions. You have to remember your family loves you. Hilary Duff | Hilary Duff 2 | Hilary Duff 3
