Beyoncé and J. Lo Just Can’t Seem To Get A Break

First, animal rights groups beat down on these divas because of their pre-fur-ences (haha, I can’t resist), and now, even human rights groups are demanding Beyoncé’s and Jennifer Lopez’s heads. Okay, not really, ’cause they’re human rights groups after all, but they’re strongly putting out the word that these two should be ashamed of the things they promote. They’ve been snapped up by Raise Your Right Hand, a campaign the diamond industry launched to try and shake off Blood Diamond’s damaging effects. According to reports, J.Lo and Beyonce agreed to wear diamonds to the Globes in exchange for a $10,000 check to be donated from the Raise Your Right Hand campaign to the African charities of their choice. Global Witness campaigner Alex Yearsley says of Raise Your Right Hand’s actions: “It’s rather disgusting if you think about Sierra Leone and the hands that got hacked off there. It’s an attempt to hit back at the film. You can imagine the PR campaign that came up with it. But the industry didn’t do much for the Sierra Leonean women with no right hand when all this was going on.” Read more. Them’s fighting words. Honestly, it seems like these two couldn’t move nowadays without having certain groups shaking their fists at them at every turn. Sounds like it’s right about time they started actually caring about and supporting good causes, although I’m sure they thought wearing the diamonds was a smart and noble thing to do.

Beyonce dazzles in chilly conditions

Beyonce Knowles braved freezing temperatures to show off her curves in a strapless dress at the London
premiere of Dreamgirls.

The singer-and-actress dazzled on the red carpet in a shimmering, sequinned gown created by top
designer Elie Saab.
However, Beyonce admitted she wasn't planning on wearing the revealing outfit all night as the
temperature in London's Leicester Square plummeted towards zero.
She said: "I'm not wearing it for long, but it's worth the pain."
The former Destiny's Child singer also admitted she is hoping for Oscar success in the wake of the film's
hat-trick of awards at the recent Golden Globes.
She added: "I can't wait to hear what's going to happen with the Oscars."
Beyonce was joined on the red carpet by her Dreamgirls co-star Jennifer Hudson - who scooped a Best
Supporting Actress award at the Golden Globes - David Gest and Don Johnson the former star of the
Miami Vice TV series.
In the movie, which is based on the phenomenal rise to success of The Supremes, Beyonc?lays Deena
Jones, who was inspired by the girl group's lead singer Diana Ross.
Jamie Foxx, Eddie Murphy and Danny Glover also star in the movie.

Beyonce Leads Dreamgirls Big Night Out

-Leicester Square crowd marvel at weather-defying dress BEYONCE was the main star attraction at last night's premiere of Dreamgirls, at Leicester Square. Though it uses different names, Dreamgirls is seen as a biopic of Diana Ross and The Supremes, in which Beyonce plays the lead part and American Idol winner Jennifer Hudson plays the better singer. Both actresses are reckoned to in the running to feature in the Oscars and both turned up in skimpy dresses last night, despite the nasty weather. "I'm not wearing it for long and it's worth the pain," said Beyonce, who added that she had taken advice on the role from La Ross herself, though the Queen of Motown revealed last week that she has yet to see the film.

Beyonce and Shakira duet details revealed

Beyonce has spoken about the duet she has recorded with Shakira.
The track 'Beautiful Liar' is set to appear on the reissued version of Knowles's album 'B'Day'.
"I've always loved her and I've always wanted to work with her, and the song fits perfectly," Beyonce
explained.
Speaking about the lyrics, the former Destiny's Child singer said: "It basically talks about two women;
the same guy is trying to get at both of them but instead of them fighting, they're saying 'He's a beautiful
liar, let's not fight, let's stick together - forget him!' I think it's a great concept."
The singer also said she's recorded brand new videos for five of the 'B'Day' tracks.
She told MTV News: "(The reissue) is a dual disc - there's music on one disc and videos on the DVD.
I'm doing five new videos, so I'll have a video for every song.
"I'm actually starting on those videos (this week) and doing them all in seven days which is pretty crazy.
I think it's a great concept because people can see my interpretations of the songs when they were
written."

Beyonce Knowles and J Lo Slammed By Humanitarian Groups

Stars Beyonce Knowles and Jennifer Lopez have been criticized by human rights groups for agreeing to
promote the gemstone industry at last week’s Golden Globes.
In attempt to reverse the diamond industries tarnished image, the stars were asked to take part in the
‘Raise Your Right Hand’ campaign in exchange for money donated to an African charity of the stars’
choice.
This is one of the ways the diamond industry is combating the bad press it is receiving, especially after
the release of Leonardo Di Caprio’s latest movie, Blood Diamond.
The movie is set in Sierra Leone’s diamond fuelled civil war where the ‘Romeo and Juliet’ actor plays a
South African mercenary in search of a rare pink gemostone.
Humanitarian groups such as Global Witness have called on Hollywood to halt the promotion of
precious gems because of the way African rebels used amputation to threaten civilians into the precious
stone industry.
Global Witness campaigner Alex Yearsley says, "It's rather disgusting if you think about Sierra Leone
and the hands that got hacked off there.

"It's an attempt to hit back at the film. You can imagine the PR campaign that came up with it.
"But the industry didn't do much for the Sierra Leonean women with no right hand when all this was
going on."
